December is of course the month that should be filled with joy and happiness as it is the season of giving. But sometimes it’s so hard to do the same as there are some people out there who are ridiculously rude. Perhaps it is because this city is just getting way too crowded. But despite all this, it should be a time of giving, and rejoicing in everything that we’ve been so blessed with. Sometimes I’m afraid to look at the news headlines as they report tragedies that just shouldn’t be occurring. For instance, the bombings across the world, the shooting in AB involving the ex’s and her friends, car crashes… and the list goes on and on. While some of us may be embracing this Christmas break with happiness and love, there are others out there who may be asking “why…” and wishing they could turn back the hands of the clock and pause for that one moment in their life, where everything was perfect.

It goes to show how vulnerable and fragile we can be. And unfortunately, it’s through these instances where we learn the painful lesson of treasuring everyone and everything you have at this moment. Right here. Right now. To push everything aside, and to just embrace that one moment in life where despite everything going on, its bliss. To be grateful for everyone in your life, despite how annoying they may be at times. It’s unfortunate that we don’t realize what we have until we pay a price- the price of losing what we once had. What we once loved. What we will never be able to get back…

This year, one of my new years resolution is to treasure every moment I have with everyone, and to not take anyone in my life for granted. Because you never know when you may turn around and they may not be there…
